My sessions are a mix of candid, lifestyle, and lightly posed images. I use prompts to get you moving and interacting naturally, and I'm always watching for the in-between moments that happen along the way. When I'm hired strictly for documentary work, I step back entirely and let things unfold. Either way, you'll receive a full range of images, from close-up details like intertwined hands to wider shots that capture the full scene. I also shoot for eye contact with the camera, which gives the images a personal quality that pulls you in.

That is generally up to you within my area of service, Charleston and surrounding areas. It can be at your family home, local park, trail, beach or downtown Charleston. Both rural and urban locations can work really well and I can help you select the perfect location.

Absolutely! I’m an animal lover, and I know that pets are part of the family. If you’d like to include your furry friend, I’d love to capture those special moments. Just keep in mind that pets can add a fun dynamic to the session but also require a little extra time and patience. To make the experience smooth, be sure they’re groomed, on a leash, and bring their favorite treats to keep them engaged. With a little planning, we’ll create beautiful, heartwarming photos that include every member of the family—paws and all!
-
Of course! I love capturing the warmth and connection of extended families. Your session fee includes all immediate family members and grandparents. If you'd like to include additional family units beyond that, there is typically a small additional fee to accommodate the extra time and coordination. If you're unsure how this applies to your session, feel free to reach out—we’ll make sure everyone who matters most is included in a way that feels natural and meaningful!

Approximately 2 weeks after our session, I will deliver your high-resolution and professionally edited photos via a link to an on-line viewing gallery.

Lifestyle Sessions for Families, Couples, and Seniors Your gallery will include all of the best images from the session. The focus is on quality and variety, from tight close-ups and personal portraits to wider shots showing the full scene, nicely posed moments to lots of movement. You can expect 75 or more images depending on the session.
Documentary and Event Sessions Image count varies based on the length of coverage. You can expect approximately 50 to 75 images per hour of coverage, with all the best from the session included.
Personal Branding Sessions These sessions typically include fewer images. Every shot is carefully composed and intentional, so the focus is on delivering a tight, strong, on-brand gallery rather than volume.
All sessions are all-inclusive. Every image in your gallery is yours.

Yes! I personally hand-edit every photo in your gallery. This includes both local and global adjustments to enhance tonality, highlights, shadows, and color where needed. My goal is to create a natural, polished look that stays true to the moment. If you have specific retouching requests beyond standard edits, I’m happy to accommodate them for an additional fee.
-
Absolutely! Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll receive a pre-session questionnaire where you can share any specific shots you’d love to have. Whether it’s a list of key moments, must-have groupings, or particular details you want highlighted, I’ll prioritize them and work from this guide during our session.
The questionnaire also helps me get to know you better—your style, your vision, and what’s most important to you—so I can tailor the session to best reflect you and your story. While I’ll ensure we capture your requested images, I’ll also bring my creative eye to document spontaneous, candid moments that make your gallery truly special.

I keep a close eye on the forecast and will be in touch a day or two before your session if rain is expected. Charleston’s weather can change quickly—morning showers can clear into a beautiful evening, and overcast skies often create soft, flattering light for photos.
If the weather is questionable on session day, we’ll stay in touch and decide together. Whenever possible, we’ll stick to the scheduled session, but if needed, we can adjust the timing, find a covered location, or reschedule. My goal is to ensure a smooth experience while capturing beautiful images, rain or shine!
